Ford Ranger 2025
Ford Ranger 2025
Overview:
The new 2025 Ford Ranger Plug-in Hybrid, the first PHEV
powertrain for the class, is expected to deliver the most powerful performance
yet seen in the Australian-developed Ranger, as well as an EV-only driving
range and other advantages. Ford is planning to upend the top-selling ute class
with it.
Importantly, Ford executives have also stated that the
plug-in hybrid powertrain option, which was developed Down Under and should be
well suited to Australian driving conditions, both on and off-road, will not
compromise the Ranger's 3500kg towing capacity, approximately 1000kg payload,
and 800mm wading depth.
Other details about the powertrain have not yet been made
public, and the start of manufacturing is not expected until the fourth quarter
of 2019.
A newly developed heavy-duty rear suspension setup has been
developed to manage the additional weight of the lithium-ion battery pack,
which is located under the tub in a custom safety cell, and Ford executives
have confirmed a targeted electric-only driving range of at least 45 km for the
Ranger Plug-in Hybrid.
A strengthened rear chassis, retuned power steering, and a custom tune for the internal combustion running gear will be added to the new suspension to assist the Ranger PHEV manage both its new motive equipment and a conventional load in the tray.
The Ranger PHEV will have vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology,
also known as "Pro Power Onboard," like other plug-in hybrid electric
vehicles. This feature gives owners access to battery power through two
three-pin power connections in the tray and one inside the cabin. As a result,
tradespeople will be able to plug in their power tools, while recreational 4x4
off-roaders and caravaners will be able to use the three-pin sockets to handle
a variety of accessories and appliances.
Interior:
It's anticipated that the inside styling of the 2025 Ranger
won't alter from the 2024 model. Compared to the present Ranger that is for
sale, that truck's interior ought to be much more contemporary. We anticipate
that the truck of 2025 will have a screen that is vertically oriented and a few
physical controls on the middle column's base. Air vents that are vertically
oriented will also be available to make the screen appear taller. In comparison
to the present model, the 2024 Ranger is anticipated to rise in size, which
should result in additional inside room for the 2025 model year as well.
As of this writing, the only information we have regarding
the upcoming Ranger is that the worldwide model comes with 10.1- and 12-inch
touchscreens. Ford's SYNC 4 infotainment system, which supports Apple CarPlay,
Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, navigation, and satellite radio, is
running on the displays.
Price and Release Date:
Beginning in late 2024, the first Ranger Plug-in Hybrid will
be produced and shipped to consumers in early 2025. Ford's aspirations to
provide customers in the mid-sized pick-up truck category with a comprehensive
range of powertrain options will advance significantly with the introduction of
the new model.
